African Production Greening And Development Center (APGRADE Center) is an organization providing a green complete upgrade effort to transform how people in poor communities do their production. This will modernize the undeveloped sectors of production, and in so doing develop these communities while protecting the environment.
APGRADE Center will reach, organize the local producers, and provide all the upgrades needed to modernize and green the production of a given product. APGRADE Center will create, launch and manage various modernization projects in different production sectors of the communities in Uganda, Africa.
APGRADE Center will accomplish the complete modernization of production by organizing and turning the subsistence local businesses producing similar products into an organization, brand, and or company.
After their launch, the specialized modernization projects called ADAPTERS will be organized into startups and brands, to enable private and public investment in order to afford more upgrades and expansion. These projects are based on popular local products brought onto market by the local producers.
Developing African production means providing green modern versions of local businesses that the producers can afford to run profitably. So Adapter projects are designed to provide systems that allow local producers to afford and properly use all the products and services that upgrade their production. Products and services that upgrade local production to be provided by adapter projects are those that:
- Improve green technology usage and the production techniques enabling cheaper, easier, and efficient production.
- Improve the products and services brought to market through value addition and creation of new and better products and services.
- Improve business organization allowing investment, raising of capital from different sources and to enforce better business operation.
- Improve green business operation, allowing usage of world class business strategies and behavior essential for business success, such as better leadership, improved business models, marketing models, new products new standards, branding, marketing, outsourcing, advertising etc.
- Improve capital investment in production so as to afford improved technology, carry out proper organization and implement proper business operation.
- Improve business management by allowing more skilled people and specialists to take part in the production.
These upgrading products and services ( Upgrades) will be from, other APGRADE adapters, Imported products and services, Local innovators, Local student creators, Services and products from Aid Givers, Charities and Ugandan companies.
The role of the APGRADE center is to design these adapter projects, bring together and organize all the needed parties, partners, and beneficiaries in order to launch and turn the adapter projects into independent successful green startup companies beneficial to all involved.
